What a difference a few years makes. After If Tomorrow The War, Constants phenomenal 2010 album, I was expecting their next release to be a bludgeoning monster considering this one was produced by the legendary Justin K. Broadrick. What we get with “Sunrise”, off of June’s Pasiflora record, is a lot closer to Echo & The Bunnymen and The Sisters of Mercy than Jesu or Godflesh,
That’s not to say that “Sunrise” isn’t a great song because it is. Will Benoit sings his heart out and atmospherically, “Sunrise” is a beast. If this is any indication as to what Pasiflora will bring come the end of June, then it’s going to be a wild ride for Constants fans.
