Hard to believe that it’s been over four years since Duran Duran’s All You Need Is Now was released. That Mark Ronson-produced effort was the Durannies’ best effort since their ’80s heyday.
On Paper Gods (due out in the U.S. September 18th), Simon, John, Nick and Roger have again aligned themselves with Ronson (currently more visible than he’s ever been thanks to the ubiquitous “Uptown Funk”), with key contributions made by Mr. Hudson (perhaps best known on these shores as the vocalist on Jay Z’s “Young Forever”) and Nile Rodgers, whose history with Duran Duran stretches back to 1984’s “The Reflex” remix and also includes the smashes “Wild Boys” and “Notorious”.
Paper Gods‘ first single, “Pressure Off”, features Warner Bros. label mate Janelle Monae, and should arrive in earholes nationwide sometime this week.
See below for Duran Duran’s U.S. tour dates. For anyone concerned that the fellas have lost a step after 35 years, I saw them just a couple years back, and they were excellent!
