Social networking can be good for you.

It’s easy to get overwhelmed with the sheer amount of music that’s available to you these days. Thankfully, I’ve got friends in high places (what up Andre Cymone) who hip me to stuff I might dig, which leads me to a gentleman who calls himself Harts.

This Australian has a danceable sound that’s very purple-reminiscent, if you know what I mean, and he’s also proficient on several instruments. His single “Lovers In Bloom” came out last week. Sounds kinda like Jesse Johnson mixed with the ’80s-era stuff Shuggie Otis unveiled recently.

It’s great to hear the ’80s soul/dance aesthetic back in fashion, after all it’s the music I grew up listening to. Harts has an EP on iTunes currently, and I’m looking forward to hearing more from him.
