Marsha Ambrosius keeps wowing folks as she releases singles and videos for her perpetually upcoming sophomore album Friends And Lovers. The latest “wow” comes courtesy of a cover of Sade’s “Love Is Stronger Than Pride.” The seductive air of Sade’s original remains, and is enhanced by a breakbeat from a hip-hop classic that you have to be an “old head” to recognize. In typical Marsha form, the seductive video has a cliffhanger/moral that underscores her status as one of the more provocative (in a good way) musicians around.

It seems as though Friends is in some kind of limbo. Someone needs to tell RCA Records to get off their asses and put this album out. Marsha is a unique talent, and soul music fans are far too dissatisfied with the state of music in general right now.

Not willing to let grass grow under her feet, Marsha is going on tour starting next month. I’m very excited to see her in Boston–already bought my ticket! Find the dates below the video.
