Remember when Dave Matthews Band said they weren’t going to tour in 2011, breaking the hearts of many (like me) who make the trek to see them perform at least once a year? Well…they lied…kinda.
DMB has just announced a multi-act traveling show called the Caravan. These events will take place over several nights and feature “a wide array of diverse musical talent” with Dave Matthews Band performing a headlining set each night. That’s all the info we’re being given at the moment. There will be four of these events taking place. June’s event will take place in the Northeast/Mid Atlantic (I’m betting it won’t be Boston, but depending on the talent lineup, I might travel for Dave), July’s event will take place in the Midwest, and the August and September events are TBA. When did the DMB folks become so damn mysterious?
I’ve been fortunate enough to catch acts as diverse as David Gray, Macy Gray, Angelique Kidjo, Toots & the Maytals and Robert Randolph playing supporting slots for DMB, so I’m psyched to see who joins them on these dates. Stay tuned. I’ll be providing more news as I get it.
