It’s not very often that two of my very favorite artists go on tour together. So needless to say, I was wicked excited when I heard the news that David Gray and Ray LaMontagne were going on tour together this summer.

Gray is best known for his 2000 album “White Ladder” and its’ hits “Babylon” and “Please Forgive Me”. The Welsh musician has racked up several hit albums since then, although not on “Ladder”‘s level. His most recent album, “Draw the Line”, was released last fall.

LaMontagne hasn’t been as successful as Gray, but he has quite the cult following. His 2003 debut “Trouble” was recently certified Gold, and his songs are a favorite of hip-minded “American Idol” contestants, having been covered by Kelly Clarkson, Taylor Hicks and Chris Sligh. Don’t hold that against him.

I’ve seen Ray once and I was absolutely mesmerized. Armed with only an acoustic guitar, he enraptured an entire theater full of rowdy Bostonians (and one transplanted Bostonian who missed the last game of the 2009 World Series to see Ray perform). I have attended two David Gray shows, but have yet to see David himself. Most recently, I had to leave before Gray took the stage, and the other time, we were tailgating (and then trying to locate our seats) during his set.

Needless to say, I am looking VERY MUCH forward to this. The list of dates is after the jump.
