Filter, “We Hate It When You Get What You Want”: The Singles Bar Review
by Jesse on Mar 18, 2013 • 11:45 am 1 CommentEasily one of my most anticipated 2013 releases, Filter blasts back after an almost three year absence with a song that brings the heavy and surprisingly, the electronic aspects of the band back to the forefront. On “We Hate It When You Get What You Want”, there’s a synthetic thump to ease listeners back in until the guitars just explode along with Richard Patrick’s raspy howl bellowing yet another brilliant chorus. If this is any indication of what the rest of The Sun Comes Out Tonight will sound like (First impressions are definitely in the Short Bus/Title Of Record realm) then Filter fans have a lot to be excited for.
The Sun Comes Out Tonight is slated for release on June 4th through Wind Up Records. Pre-orders start on April 2nd along with the debut of the first official single “What Do You Say”. But for now, enjoy “We Hate It When You Get What You Want” below and on Officialfilter.com.

This album is showing a lot of promise. I can’t wait until June to see if the rest of the songs live up to the quality of this first release.
