One of the coolest things about being a popular musician must be the ability to occasionally share the stage with your heroes. Neo-folk outfit Mumford & Sons have gotten to do that several times over the past couple of years. At the Grammy Awards last year, the quartet shared the stage with Bob Dylan for a rendition of “Maggie’s Farm,” and just a couple of days ago, at the Pinkpop Festival in Holland, the band got to share the stage with Bruce Springsteen for a rendition of The Boss’ 1980 smash “Hungry Heart.”

A Bruce concert is generally regarded as something akin to a religious experience (I was certainly impressed by the performance of his I attended earlier this year,) and the addition of Mumford & Sons must have been the icing on a very tasty cake.

In other news, Mumford & Sons recently announced that their hotly-anticipated second studio album is scheduled for release this coming September. Their 2010 debut, Sigh No More, has sold over 2 million copies since it’s release.
