Didja miss us while we were gone? I know I missed you! But we’re back and better than ever with a look at the first single off of local giants Doomriders first album in almost four years.
“Dead Friends” is the first treat from Grand Blood (Due on October 15th on Deathwish, Inc) and is a welcome return. If you were a fan of their previous outings then this one is sure to have you smiling.
The song shows growth, it has depth, and most importantly for any Doomriders track, it rocks really, REALLY hard. Nate Newton shows an expanded range wile he and fellow DR guitarist Chris Pupecki double attack on some chug-a-chug riffage for a monolithic build at the beginning. Former Clouds drummer Q makes his DR debut behind the kit along with mainstay Jebb Riley on bass.
Grand Blood is out through Deathwish, Inc on October 15th. Don’t forget to check them out on the road when they head out with High On Fire and Kvelertak in November. Go here for dates.
*Update* As I finish typing this out, it appears the entire album is now streaming! How’s that for a coincidence? Hear it now here.
