Mr. Biggs Is Back!: Check Out Ronald Isley’s “Dinner & A Movie”

Ronald Isley has been a force to be reckoned with in the music business for almost SIXTY years now. He’s a Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Famer, a soul legend, and a true musical institution-and he’s still making creatively and commercially viable sounds.

Although Ron’s work (for the last twenty-five or so years) has been primarily of the seductive contemporary R&B variety, most of it has been quite good. The same can be said for his latest tune, “Dinner & a Movie.” It’s up to date without sounding like Ron’s trying to hard, and of course, that voice is timeless. Nice to hear he’s ditched the pimpalicious Mr. Biggs persona (at least temporarily) for something a little more gentlemanly. Ron’s new album will be out this summer.
