Welcome to our 2013 Grammy Awards live blog!

The Grammys are the most important night in the industry. Careers have been made and lost here. This year, we are figuring that many careers will be made (or at least elevated) following this ceremony, in which we’ll see performances from relative newcomers like Mumford & Sons, Ed Sheeran, Fun. Frank Ocean and Miguel. All of these artists also stand chances to win big.

Some early notes: Dan Auerbach and The Black Keys are already huge winners tonight. The Keys won Best Rock Song and Best Rock Album, while Auerbach was also recognized as the producer of Best Blues Album (Dr. John’s Locked Down) and he took home the trophy for Producer of the Year. The other multiple winners, so far, are Skrillex (Best Dance Recording and Best Dance/Electronic Album,) Gotye (Best Alternative Performance and Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group, for “Somebody That I Used to Know” with Kimbra) and the duo of Kanye West and Jay-Z, who picked up Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance (for “N***** in Paris.”)

Much of the buzz on social media so far has centered on Drake’s defeat of several worthy opponents (including Nas & The Roots) for Best Rap Album (Take Care.) Of course, complaining about the Grammys is a fruitless exercise. The most deserving artist loses as often as they win. For me, the win was unsurprising. Not deserved, but unsurprising.

Anyway, join us in the chat room for more fun times as the ceremony progresses!

We’ll be live at 8 PM, so sit tight and then join us when the telecast starts!!
