If you’ve been following the New Kids On The Block via social media, you may have seen their marketing based around a package that was set to open up on January 22nd.
On Christmas day, they simply posted a graphic of an unopened gift on their Facebook page. In the middle of January, there was a photo of a nearly opened gift that said, “Some packages are best opened on January 22, 2013!”
Yesterday, the graphic teased an unveiling. And finally, today, “The Package” was opened. Now, this “package” has become a bit of a double entendre and I’m sure the folks behind the marketing knew it would happen. But, the package is an unboxing of several things including a new single set to hit iTunes next week called “Remix (I Like The)”, a new album called “10” due in April, and a full-on boy band tour featuring 98 Degrees and Boyz II Men.
The Package? Really? I guess since it’s an all boy-band concert tour, “The Package” isn’t just a creative name. Now, if they added a girl group to the mix, that would be quite the mixed message.
NKOTB showed up on The View today, though only a bad stream of the show is available on YouTube currently. Only for the diehards.

Wait, have the New Kids really made 10 albums?
*counting* I’m only getting 9, including the new one.

So they have 5 studio albums.
My guess is that they’re counting Merry, Merry Christmas, the remix joint, 2 of the greatest hits?, and then the NKOTBSB album.
Unless they count Jordan’s album where he redoes all their hits. Ha!

Yeah, i counted the remix album, the Christmas album and the NKOTBSB album and am counting the new one as #9. They can’t possibly be counting the “Greatest Hits,” for various reasons, primarily the fact that they have like 4 different greatest hits albums.

They have to be counting one or two of the greatest hits albums.
