Got 10 minutes to spare? If you’re a Kanye West or a Jay-Z fan, you might want to have a look at the short film that was recently released, documenting their collaborative effort, Watch the Throne (out in one week).
Of course, 10 minutes is nowhere near long enough to provide anything in-depth, but the mini-doc is pretty entertaining. Jay does much of the talking, and it’s cool to catch them (along with Jay’s wife Beyonce) in relatively unguarded moments-especially since Hov has mastered the art of being very public and very private simultaneously. The opening section where Kanye gives Jay a birthday gift is kind of touching to watch, if only because images of young(ish) black men actually doing nice things for one another are still pretty rare finds in modern media.
Most importantly, the music used (in short snippets, obviously) sounds GOOD. I’ll be in a store somewhere on August 2nd getting my hip-hop/Kanye/Jigga fix. Make sure you are too. Oh, also make sure you check out their just-announced tour dates, which you can find after the jump.
