DJ Earworm has become quite well known for his year-end mashups featuring all the hottest songs of the previous 12 months. This year’s version really only proves how relatively out of touch I am with the Billboard charts. I recognized a handful of songs (the ubiquitous “Rolling in The Deep”, Rihanna’s “We Found Love”) and completely blanked on the others (I swear I wouldn’t recognize an LMFAO song if you played one for me.) The fact that so many of the songs sound similar either speaks to the homogenization of Top 40 radio or to DJ Earworm’s mixing skills (probably the latter, lest everything I say come out sounding completely crusty.) At any rate, it’s a fun look back at the year that was. Damn, Katy Perry was popular.
