Seriously. Why isn’t this chick more popular than Lady GaGa?
In retrospect, I probably gave “Body Talk Vol. 1” a higher rating than I should’ve, but I will say that “Dancing on My Own” is in a master class when it comes to pop music making. Danceable beat, intelligent lyrics, a vocal that actually sounds like it’s invested in the lyrical content, and a nice contrast of sad lyrics/happy music (the same conundrum-type thing that explains why I like Everything but the Girl so much).
The video’s not ridiculously special, but in this case, it’s not about the damn video. It’s about the song and how fucking good it is. Enjoy.
Someone needs to start a grassroots campaign to take this song to #1 on the charts.
