A Few Takeaways From Matt Nathanson’s “Kinks Shirt” Video
by MJ on Oct 1, 2013 • 9:30 am No Comments-I have been remiss in not giving Matt’s Last Of The Great Pretenders album the proper listen it deserves. What can I say? Been going through some shit.
-Dude got Bobcat Goldthwait to direct his video. If you are like me, you’re a huge fan of Bobcat simply by virtue of his unreal appearances on the “Arsenio Hall Show.” There was always the air of “this dude is gonna get Arsenio taken off the air” every time he appeared.
-It’s kinda cool to name a song “Kinks Shirt” and then make a video that obliquely references their hit “Lola.”
-ALWAYS LOOK FOR THE ADAM’S APPLE IF YOU’RE CONFUSED.
-Matt’s playing Boston later this year, the show’s sold out, and I have to figure out a way to get tickets. Anyway, it’s a great song, a fun (and kinda ballsy) video, and I think this may have ramped my mancrush on Mr. Nathanson up a few notches.
