Bilal is one of those guys who should be infinitely more popular than he is. Granted, taking a decade-long break between your first and second album probably isn’t the best move in the world, but Bilal never fully left the public consciousness. After all, he’s guested on albums by everyone from Jay-Z and The Roots to Solange Knowles over the years.
“Back To Love” is the first single from Bilal’s upcoming third (official) album, A Love Surreal, and while it’s not really his best work, his vocal idiosyncracies are cool enough to make the song worthwhile. The video is cute, too. At any rate, many classic albums have been led by only decent first singles, so I still hold out hope that Surreal is gonna be a banger. Make sure you check it out when it hits stores next month.
