You’ve got to admit: Drake & Rihanna have quite a bit of chemistry together. The video for “Take Care,” the title track of Drake’s second album, tries a bit too hard to be artsy-fartsy, what with the weird animals and stuff-but the truly engrossing visuals come from watching Rih-Rih and Drizzy interact.
The song is also pretty dope-although I’m gonna have to keep referring you back to the Jamie XX/Gil Scott-Heron collaboration album We’re New Here, which contains the song that formed the basis for “Take Care.” I feel like they should’ve given Gil a shout in the video somehow-gotta let the younguns know!

I gave “We’re New Here” an honest shot and couldn’t get into it – none of xx’s remixes held a candle to the originals. Still, this was a clever re-envisioning on Drake and Rihanna’s part, and the beat fits their voices much better than Gil Scott-Heron’s. The video isn’t bad either, pointless animal reaction shots be damned. They make a good (fake?) couple.

I don’t get the pointless animal reaction shots either.
I thought “We’re New Here” was really good. Jamie XX did a good job of making the songs even more poignant than they originally were, which is no small feat.
