Rather than try to be eloquent in my sorrow (the Giants won’t get to defend their World Series title), I decided to take this show on the road. Actually, I decided to take it to the air. After the St. Louis Cardinals officially caught and surpassed the Atlanta Braves to win the NL Wild Card on Wednesday night, I thought it would be a good time to chat with Daniel Shoptaw, writer and editor of the Cardinals blog C70 At The Bat. We talked about the Cardinals’ strong finish and how they match up with the vaunted Philadelphia Phillies. We also talk about Albert Pujols and his 2011 season which is the last of his current contract. You can also follow Daniel on Twitter @c70.
(For the Giants fans that might be listening to this — if you only want to hear about the Giants, fast forward to the 30 minute mark.)
We then change teams and I talk with Steve Berman, who is also know as the Bay Area Sports Guy and writes the blog of the same name. We go over the end of the season, the offseason expectations, the handling of Brandon Belt and what could happen to Tim Lincecum in two years. You can find Steve on Twitter @BASportsGuy.
