Seriously, who in R&B is making the best videos right now? Hint, her last name ain’t Knowles.
Teasing the second volume of her “New Amerykah” series, which comes out this coming Tuesday, Erykah Badu has blessed us with the video for the album’s first official single, “Window Seat”. While the song itself might be the most R&B radio-palatable thing she’s recorded in at least half a decade (not necessarily a bad thing), the video is, as one should expect from Ms. Badu, something else. It nods to Matt & Kim’s award-winning “Lessons Learned” video, but stick around to the end for a surprising twist-and a message.
I’m definitely more excited for Badu’s album now than I was before I saw the video. I think I even forgive her for the Lil Wayne collabo now.

Wow, this is really dope, and definitely better that the previous entry with Lil’ Wayne. Loved the first part of “New Amerykah,” and can’t wait for this one to drop. It’s just a pity her records sales are not commensurate with her talent. I mean, damn, only a little below 400,000 for “New Amerykah Part One”? Ugh, ridiculous.

Her music is probably a little too far left for the masses. They don’t know what they’re missing!
