I don’t know whose crazy idea it was to hand Giorgio Moroder a My Morning Jacket song to remix, but the result of this unlikely collaboration is a solid jam that should hand-deliver the jam-band favorites to a disco near you in short order.
The legendary producer (who released his own album, Deja Vu, earlier this year) has also recently worked his magic on indie-pop starlets Haim. Along with Roman Luth, Moroder unleashes a pile of synths and a four-on-the-floor beat to “Compound Fracture”, a cut from MMJ’s excellent 2015 release The Waterfall. Jim James’ falsetto does have a certain Barry Gibb-ness to it, doesn’t it?
Anyway, check the track out (on Spotify) below and check out MMJ’s upcoming tour dates (I’ve seen them three times, and they’re amazing) here.
