Nearly forty years after their original incarnation as pioneering new wave band Joy Division, New Order keeps chugging along. Members have come, gone and returned over the years, but their music has kept a consistency that the actual band hasn’t.
“Restless” is the first single from Music Complete, the first album of new material from New Order in a decade. It will be their first album since the departure of co-founder Peter Hook. If you were expecting Hook’s departure to change New Order’s sound drastically, you’ll be pretty disappointed. “Restless” is classic New Order-maybe edging a bit more on the rock side of the dance/rock equation, but all in all a solid track from a band that should be fully in middle-aged, fat and happy mode right now.
Someone gonna put these guys in the Hall of Fame already or what?

Love it! But who would get into the HoF? New Order or Joy Division? I think there’s an argument for each.

There’d have to be some kind of split. Not sure how they’d do it. But they’re the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. They can do anything!
