As I’ve gotten older, times have changed, and I’ve stopped listening to the radio, I’ve developed a solid network of kindred spirits that turn me on to new music. Some of these tastemakers are actual people. Others are web entities, like the always reliable Soulbounce.
It was while checking the site out a couple days ago that I stumbled upon the music of British singer/songwriter Dornik. “Stand In Your Line” is a summery slice of pop ‘n b done right. Clearly influenced by Michael Jackson (and to an extent, the best work from Ne-Yo), this breezy midtempo track pushes all the right buttons.
Check it out below. Dornik’s self titled album comes out digitally August 7th, You can preorder it here.
