I won’t dignify the recent Knowles/Carter hoopla except to say they should be allowed to handle their matter in private, and that they don’t need to explain what happened to anyone. Bey, Jay and Solange all seem like cool people and I hope whatever issues they had are either worked out or being worked out.
That said, pop music’s SuperCouple leads the pack for nominations for the upcoming BET Awards. Their collaboration “Drunk In Love” is responsible for many of the pair’s nods.
The rest of the nominations are (I guess) a who’s-who of modern R&B. I can’t say I’m a fan of too many of these folks, and the fact that I don’t even recognize a few names probably speaks volumes about how removed I feel from the current music scene. I wouldn’t know an August Alsina or an Angel Haze if you smacked me in the face with one. Of course, familiar names like Pharrell, Drake, John Legend and Justin Timberlake pop up against Jay and Bey.
Also, Hype Williams still directs videos?
The BET Awards will air on June 29th. I no longer have cable, so I won’t be watching. Besides, the commentary on social media these days is usually better than the shows themselves.

Charlie Baltimore still raps?
Also, agree about Jay-Solange but the memes are so darn funny.
