Marsha Ambrosius & Ne-Yo Make Music Together On “Without You”
by MJ on Aug 14, 2013 • 3:00 pm 4 CommentsYou know the old commercial (I think it was for Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups) that talked about “two great tastes that taste great together”?
Well, I love Marsha Ambrosius, and I love Ne-Yo. And while I’m not sure that “Without You” lives up to the lofty expectations set by both artists, it is a good song, and a couple more listens just might elevate it higher on my list.
Man, do you realize how rare it is these days for two R&B stars to duet? There hasn’t been an “Endless Love”-type collaboration in a long-ass time. C’mon, R&B. Step your game up.
Anyway, Marsha’s Lovers And Friends album is supposed to be out later this year. I hope her record company gets with the program (the release date has been messed around with for the better part of a year) and puts this puppy out. R&B needs it.

I have to say, this Prince-style slowjam was a nice surprise, but I don’t hear “hit” on this track. Solid Quiet Storm cut, though. And I know that she may not be considered R&B by some, but the Mariah & Miguel duet was pretty decent as well.

What about Jordin Sparks and Chris Brown in “No Air”? That was off the hook!

That wasn’t R&B! I’d say it’s more pop.

I was kinda teasing … though I did like it.
