Remember Jojo? Teen pop singer with some R&B chops? Had that big hit called “Leave (Get Out)”? Starred in that RV movie with Robin Williams?

Well, she’s back, and with “We Get By,” the first taste of her upcoming mixtape, Agape, she makes a serious bid for grown-up props.

The song has got a hazy feel to it (you’ll figure out why if you listen to the lyrics) and reminds me more than a little bit of D’Angelo’s “Brown Sugar.” Didn’t realize the young lady had this kind of creativity in her. I’ll be checking out the mixtape for sure, and will be looking forward to a full-length release from her as well.
