Alain Johannes deserves your attention. If you didn’t know him from his work in Eleven or with Chris Cornell or with Queens Of The Stone Age or with Them Crooked Vultures or his own solo album, that’s ok (It’s not). Anyway, he’s back with a new EP due to be released soon and the first offering, “Not Of This Earth” is as introspective and heartfelt as anything he’s done up until now if not more. 2010’s Spark was, quite simply, brilliant so the anticipation for the follow-up is nothing short of feverish at this point for longtime fans of Johannes. Luckily, the unearthly stylings of “Not Of This Earth” do not disappoint.

This is awesome…I’m a big fan (have the entire Eleven catalog) of virtually all of his work (it was his and Natascha Schneider’s additions that made Chris Cornell’s first solo album so amazing), and I’m eagerly awaiting the new stuff. Glad to hear it’s as good as his current work, especially since he’s set the bar so high.
