Sheeeee’s back.
After a lengthy absence, Grammy-winning songstress Anita Baker has returned–and if her new song is any indication, ain’t nothin’ changed.
The Detroit native previews Only Forever, her first album in seven years, with a remake of Tyrese’s “Lately.” Amazingly, she takes Ty’s slow jam and makes it sound like a lost track from the “Giving You The Best That I Got” sessions. Seriously, you’d totally believe me if I’d told you that this was an Anita Baker joint from 1989.
Her sound, her voice, still timeless. I anxiously wait the arrival of Anita’s new album and hope there’s much more where this comes from.

LOVE this. Classic and yet still contemporary. Welcome back, Anita. Urban AC stations have been waiting for you.
