Rich folks have a lot of fun, eh?
For the video for “Otis”, the official first single from Watch the Throne (released on iTunes Monday and available in all other outlets tomorrow), Yeezy and Jigga are joined by some hot girls and Aziz Ansari (??) for some car silliness and mugging for the camera. It’s not high art, but it looks like the two rappers had a blast making the video. Makes me wonder when the last time a hip-hop video was so…I don’t wanna say joyful, but just…happy. Not an adjective associated with the genre that much anymore…
…anyways, there’ll be a few reviews of Watch the Throne popping up on the site soon (this is not an easily digestible album), so keep your eyes peeled. In the meantime, enjoy…

I talked about “Otis” over at my joint and the crickets chirped, but the track is a masterpiece. If anything, I’m glad they kept the video stripped down both figuratively and literally as it allows the track to shine on its own merits. Two MCs mugging for the camera and boasting about the skills and material things they’ve got…that’s true hip hop.

It’s definitely a refreshing change from what’s become the norm.

The title of this album should simply be called, “Success”. Look at those dudes. Top dogs in the game and they’re having fun.
