Singer/songwriter Ashley Arrison was the subject of one of our very first “Who the Hell Is?” columns. Ashley’s a little bit rootsy, a little bit rock and roll, and a little bit pop. One of her benefactors, in fact, is a woman who shares similar characteristics, former “American Idol” champ and current Grammy-winning superstar, Kelly Clarkson.
In the year since we spotlighted her, what has Ashley been up to? Well, she’s been recording her debut album, Hearts on Parade. The album is finished and available via Noisetrade, and how much is Miss Arrison charging for you to hear her art? Not a DAMN red cent. Of course, Noisetrade is a site where you are encouraged to donate what you feel is appropriate for the music, and it’s not like little dollar bills float out of the sky and land in her bank account. Drop a few bucks in the till for her, why don’t you? It’s the least you can do in order to hear some good music! All you have to do is submit your email address and zip code, and the music is YOURS, and with the stuff Noisetrade has been doing lately, (like the Josh Rouse album I mentioned a few weeks ago, allowing them to get your email address will almost certainly come in handy at some point.
