Still not totally sold on Bon Iver yet, I’ve got to say. But Justin Vernon’s got impeccable taste in covers (and I’ve gotta say, he’s adorable). He recently appeared on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” to promote Bon Iver, Bon Iver-his upcoming June 21st release (an album some of you may have gotten early due to an iTunes glitch) and performed a mashup of Bonnie Raitt’s “I Can’t Make You Love Me” (quite possibly-from a lyrical standpoint-the best song written in the past twenty years) with Leon Russell’s “A Song for You” (most commonly known in the Donny Hathaway-performed version) and added in a little bit of Bonnie’s “Nick of Time”.
If I can throw in my “American Idol” judge for a second: the emotion was definitely there, but I wasn’t totally sold when it came to the execution (actually, that sentiment was probably more articulate than the average “Idol” judge could manage). Check it out for yourself and let us know what you think in the comment section.

No better time than now. There’s a strong chance I’m liking his forthcoming album even more than “For Emma”… this thing’s gonna be a monster with reviewers when it comes out.

Oh yeah. People are gonna be all over it. I think it’ll sell pretty well too. A lot of people know Bon Iver now that didn’t know Bon Iver a year ago.
