So, the first “official” single from Michael Jackson’s “Michael” (what even constitutes an official or unofficial single these days?) has made it’s debut, and it’s…a song that circulated heavily on the internet three years ago?
“Hold My Hand” is the name of the song, and it’s one of the tracks that MJ worked on with Akon a couple of years ago (you know, back when Akon was hot). The version that leaked a couple years back was unfinished (and truthfully, I don’t remember enough of it to compare that version to this one), so Akon went back in the studio to finish off the song.
Truth is-I want to hate, but it’s not bad. It’s got a pretty melody, and Michael (despite making what amounts to a “featured” appearance on his own song) is in good voice (and I’m fairly confident this time that it’s him singing!). Sounds like a hit.

I don’t even remember hearing the leak, but my buddy said he thinks the new one just sounds more produced and thus, sounds like a finished song. Makes sense to me.
I dig it. I just wish Akon wasn’t on it.

Yeah, that might be the difference. I actually don’t mind Akon, strangely enough.

Even his Puff Daddy shout-out in the beginning? I didn’t mind Akon on some of Whitney’s songs.
I looked for this song on iTunes this morning and it wasn’t there. I thought I read that it was going to be available starting today?

I’m not sure whether they meant “available now” as available for purchase or whether they were just releasing the song to radio and the public today.
