Did you know that the new “Supernova” is Ray LaMontagne‘s first-ever music video? That seems super crazy when you consider his level of success and the fact that he’s been around forever, but…yep. He’s never gotten in front of the camera for a video before, and…well, he’s still not gotten in front of the camera for a video, because the “Supernova” video doesn’t even feature him. Pretty sneaky, Ray.

The animated clip is kinda cute and serves the bouncy “Supernova” very well. A few other tracks from Supernova (the album) have been floating around on Spotify, not sure if any of them are as earworm-y as the title track is, but Ray’s music generally takes a while to grow on you anyway.

Supernova (the album) will be out in just four weeks (on May 6.) Make sure you catch Ray on tour this summer with Jason Isbell. I’ve seen both men in concert multiple times, and believe me, you will get your money’s worth.
