You know we love Donald Glover down at PB HQ. Actor, comedian, rapper, singer: the man can do it all. And he might also be the first musician to use the term “blerd” in a song lyric.
He shows us love? We show the love right back.
Here’s a cover of “I’d Die Without You,” which was originally a smash for P.M. Dawn in the summer of 1992 (and is a simply stunning love song.) Childish performed this live on BBC’s Radio1 Extra. Alicia Keys also recently released a cover of the song. P.M. Dawn got a lot of shit from hip-hop purists in their day, but seeing as a ton of modern-day hip-hop takes cues from Prince Be and DJ Minutemix (see: Drake) might there be reason to revisit and give them some much-overdue propers?
