As those of you who read this site or follow Popblerd on Twitter are aware, Francis & The Lights are one of my favorite (relatively) unknown bands. These guys have a pop/soul sensibility that’s reminiscent of many of my favorite acts from childhood-George Michael, Phil Collins, Hall & Oates. It’s been a couple of years since their lone full-length, It’ll Be Better, was released. Actually, in the time since that album’s release, fellow Canadian (and occasional collaborator) Drake has released three albums. At any rate, Francis & co. have a new EP called Like A Dream scheduled for release on November 25th, right in time to play while digesting your turkey and stuffing.

I have to temper that good news with the fact that I don’t find the latest preview track, “If They Don’t Come Tomorrow,” particularly good. Not that it’s awful, just not up to Francis’s usual high-standard. Sounds kinda “autopilot”-ish to me.

Check it out for yourself and let us know what you think. Hell, maybe it’ll grow on me.
