It’s New Release Tuesday! No, it’s Monday. Why is there a New Release Report out on a Monday?!?! JT has an album out and he deemed Monday was the day it was going to be released? Oh, okay. That makes sense then.

So yeah, here we are on a Monday talking about some new releases because Justin Timberlake has that kind of power and, frankly, who are we to argue?  The second half of The 20/20 Experience hits today (Appropriately titled The 20/20 Experience 2 of 2!) and clocking in at over 74 minutes it’s just as massive as its’ predecessor and boasts the hit single “Take Back The Night” along with guest spots from Drake and Jay Z. GG will have your full review later in the week but in the meantime, you can judge for yourself with the stream here.

On the metal side of things (You know, where I make my bread and butter normally), Max Cavalera is back with another Soulfly album which not only features his son Zyon on drums but also some guest appearances from Clutch’s Neil Fallon and Napalm Death’s Mitch Harris to name a few.  Savages is by no means  going to reinvent the proverbial metal wheel but it’s still a solid effort from the band. Also out this week is the debut from Scar The Martyr, the new project from Slipknot drummer Joey Jordison. Before you start rolling your eyes, the record is equal parts melody and mayhem and boasts none other than NIN’s Chris Vrenna and Strapping Young Lad’s Jed Simon in its ranks.

Elsewhere in the stratosphere, Joan Jett returns with her tenth studio album while upstarts HAIM unleash their debut Days Are Gone. Also of note is the sophomore (!) release of Deltron 3030 whose Deltron Event II is the group’s first in 13 years. Moby is also back with a new one, his eleventh, which features guests like Mark Lanegan, Wayne Coyne, and Skylar Grey.

And that’s what we have for the week for you. For a complete picture of the week’s releases, check out our friends over at Pause & Play.
