Y’all are sleeping on Big Boi’s albums.
The half of OutKast who isn’t busy starring in television commercials has put out two albums of unmitigated genius. The most recent of the two is last year’s Vicious Lies & Dangerous Rumors, which finds Big doing his thing over state of the art beats with guest appearances from some of soul and hip-hop underground’s best artists. You should own this.
At any rate, the video for “Apple of My Eye,” the album track Big has been promoting during most of his media appearances to push the record, is fairly simple. It’s not really about the video (or the intro, which belabors an already bad joke) but the music. Try to sit still to this-just won’t happen.
