As you may or may not know, I have a love/hate affair with Rihanna. She relies a little too hard on the sex card sometimes, and she doesn’t seem to make very good life decisions, but damn it if she doesn’t make good pop music. In the end, I guess that’s all we should expect from her, right?
At any rate, following a surprisingly strong Grammy performance of “Stay” with newcomer Mikki Ekko, the Barbadian songstress has released a video for the emotional ballad. The one-take video, directed by Sophie Muller, finds the singer submerged in a bathtub, makeup free, not even bothering to mouth (most of) the lyrics. The video’s giving me some Sinead O’ Connor “Nothing Compares 2 U” vibes.
