Um, so I really like this. If you didn’t know it already, Fall Out Boy are back! They have a new album due in May, a full blown tour ready to roll, and a whole new sound. I’ve been a casual fan since F.U.C.T. exploded all over the place but my attention span usually never went past the stage of getting their albums. I will say that I’ve always respected how FOB’s sound continued to evolve regardless of how their fans reacted so it’s quite nice to hear how off the beaten path “My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark (Light Em Up)” is.
The song mixes hip-hop (Think the collaboration they did with Timbaland) with rock and tacks on a gigantic sing-a-long chorus that is sure to be a hit live. This is the kind of stuff Patrick Stump was born to sing. The song and the video serve as both a goodbye to the past (As 2 Chainz and his ladies lay waste to everything FOB related) and possibly a fuck you to fans hoping to get a return to form. Either way, it’ll be interesting to hear what turns up when the album is released on May 7th.
