Like a lumbering giant, Torche’s latest single (Off the upcoming 2-song 7″) “Harmonslaught”, is slow moving but deadly. Trudging along like “Charge Of The Brown Recluse” off of Torche with modern flourishes, Torche take about ten steps backwards from Harmonicraft (released earlier in the year) and that’s just fine. If you like Torche already, you will absolutely love this. If you were unsure of where you stood when it came to Torche, then “Harmonslaught” will be a deciding factor for sure. Never a band to be heavy for heavy’s sake, Torche mix thunderous riffs with catchy melodies creating a sound that is definitely all their own.
