Not to toot my own horn, but I go to a lot of shows. Generally, I have a good idea of what I’m getting into when I go…it’s not easy for me to get my socks blown off by an act (fine, I’m jaded.)

So when I go to a gig and do get my socks blown off, I wanna shout about it from the rafters. Enter: Pegasus Warning. I caught this guy (and his excellent backing band, which consisted of a drummer, a synthesizer player and a testifyin’ backup singer) at the Paradise Rock Club, opening for Twin Shadow, and what I saw was revelatory. It was like someone threw Bilal, Sylvester, and TV On The Radio into a blender together, added a pinch of David Bowie, and hit “puree.” Magnetic stage presence, addictive grooves and a heightened sense of drama add up to someone you should definitely make it a priority to check out.

There is an EP coming in the near future, but for now, why don’t you check out the track “Olive Island,” which you can download (for free) off of Bandcamp.

Check out his website as well, which includes all pertinent linkage.
