In preparation for a new remix EP that comes out next month, Jim James and company have just released a video for the song “Outta My System.” By itself, the song itself is solid (and is probably killer if you see MMJ live, which I STRONGLY suggest you do…their shows are epic,) but the video adds a whole new level of trippiness to the proceedings.
It’s animated for starters. No, you’re not smoking some really good pot, it’s really a cartoon. OK, maybe you’re still smoking some really good pot. Nevertheless.
The kicker is that the video features an equally animated Zach Galifianakis, continuing a string of frankly bizarre music video appearances. Also, the members of MMJ only have one eye each.
