Now, this is more like it.

Following the not-so-great teaser track “I’m An Animal”, Robin Thicke has returned to set things straight with the title track to his upcoming fifth album, Love After War.

Boasting an easy-breezy vibe reminiscent of Marvin Gaye’s I Want You era, this smooth ode to breakup sex will definitely serve as the soundtrack to someone’s between-the-sheets episode. People still do that sort of thing right? Am I showing my age by saying I used to make love-makin’ slow jam mixtapes? Ah, whatever. If this was the Nineties, “Love After War” would totally be on my sex mix.

This song (and many of Robin’s) also comes off as a little reminiscent of El DeBarge. El and Robin both record under the Universal Music umbrella. Someone needs to hook those two up and have them do a record together. A certain segment of the female population just might spontaneously combust.

Look for Robin’s Love After War (which I am now infinitely more excited for) later this fall.
