If you’re local to New England, then you probably don’t need me to tell you who Bad Rabbits are (unless you’re one of those easily confused people who’s confusing them with White Rabbits…or Frightened Rabbit…or Eddie Rabbitt…). They’re a funk/rock behemoth ’round these parts. Those of you who are not familiar, however–get ready to have your eardrums penetrated by some dope sounds. These guys have been working on their debut album for quite some time, under the guidance of the legendary Teddy Riley, and they’ve also been posting covers on their site from artists ranging from The King of Pop to Pantera-now that’s fucking range. Their latest post is a cover of the Smashing Pumpkins classic “1979”. It’s a rock-solid groove, just like the original, but without Billy Corgan’s semi-irritating nasal whine. Keep your eye on these guys.
