I’ll skip making the obvious “is the water warm enough?” joke that I’ve made just about every time I’ve written something about Wendy Melvoin & Lisa Coleman and say that Prince’s two most celebrated bandmates are musically talented enough that they should be judged on their own merits and not via anything Purple. Five albums as a duo, a career as Emmy-winning scorers of TV and movie music, tons of production and instrumental credits for the likes of Seal, Meshell Ndegeocello and a slew of other musicians-these ladies are and have been the real deal.

Well, folks, Wendy and Lisa have not been sitting on their keesters since the release of White Flags of Winter Chimneys a couple of years ago. The pair has been in the lab creating new music, some of which you can listen to and own (for free) by clicking on this link. If you have friends who love music, share the link with them! Go crazy (Prince pun unintentional)!

With Revolution drummer Bobby Z. on the mend following a heart attack, my fingers are still crossed that Prince will stage a full-on Revolution reunion. Of course, Wendy & Lisa (who have performed with him several times over the years) would have to be a huge part of that.
