Some childhood crushes never fade…

That said, I don’t think I had a thing for Lisa Bonet until I was 10 or 11 and her bad-girl streak rared it’s ugly head. There was the nude Rolling Stone cover (which probably made Bill Cosby swallow his cigar) and then there was her scandalous sex scene in “Angel Heart” (which I’ve still never seen in full because I had to leave the room when we rented the movie and it came on). Then she became full-on bohemian hippieĀ  chick, and nothing could have been closer to what I found attractive at the time. She was the main reason I watched “High Fidelity”, which turned out to be one of my favorite movies (and eventually favorite books) of all time. Except she had a vagina. Oh, well.

They say black doesn’t crack, and these days Lisa Bonet/Lilakoi Moon looks as good as she did when she was in her early twenties (and her daughter Zoe Kravitz has benefited from an incredibly good gene pool). While some may always remember her as Denise Huxtable, I will always have a soft spot for her as the archetype for my ideal girl-alternate universes be damned.
